Use CarouselBot with Claude

Experimental

Create carousels and documents directly from Claude Desktop or Claude Code using MCP.

This feature is experimental

The Claude integration is new and actively being improved. You may encounter occasional errors, slow responses, or unexpected behavior. It works best for creating and browsing content — complex editing is still easier in the CarouselBot editor directly.

What is this?

CarouselBot connects to Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant) through a standard called MCP (Model Context Protocol). This means you can ask Claude to create carousels and documents for you without leaving your conversation.

Think of it like giving Claude access to your CarouselBot account. You chat with Claude as usual, and when you want a carousel or document, Claude creates it for you and gives you a link to view and edit it in CarouselBot.

What you can do

Create carousels from conversation

"Turn my blog post into a LinkedIn carousel"

Create documents from articles

"Make this article into an ebook with the Dark Editorial theme"

Browse and edit your content

"Show me my carousels" or "Change the headline on slide 3"

Repurpose content across formats

"Take my leadership carousel and turn it into a document"

Start using it

Just ask Claude to create content for you. Here are some examples:

"Create a LinkedIn carousel about 5 tips for remote work"
"Turn this blog post into a carousel using the gradient-ocean template"
"Make me an ebook from this article with the Dark Editorial theme"
"Show me my recent carousels"
"Change the headline on slide 2 of my latest carousel to "The Real Impact""

How it works behind the scenes

When you ask Claude to create a carousel, Claude sends a request to CarouselBot with your topic. CarouselBot's AI generates the slide content and saves it to your account. Claude gives you a link where you can edit the design, add images, and export.

Your API key is like a password for your account — it lets Claude access your carousels and documents. Keep it private, and revoke it anytime from this page if needed.

Common questions

Do I need to be technical to use this?

No. With Claude Desktop, just download and double-click the extension file. With Claude Code, you paste one command. After that, you just chat with Claude normally.

Does this cost extra?

No. Using CarouselBot through Claude uses the same plan and limits as using CarouselBot directly.

Can Claude see my password or personal data?

No. Claude can only access your carousels, documents, and templates. Your login credentials are never shared.

What is Claude Code vs Claude Desktop?

Claude Desktop is the chat app you download from Anthropic — it looks like a regular chat window. Claude Code is a developer tool that runs in a terminal. Both work with CarouselBot, but the setup is different for each (see Step 2 above).

Can I still use CarouselBot normally?

Yes! The Claude integration is an addition, not a replacement. Everything in CarouselBot works the same as before.

How do I disconnect Claude?

Revoke your API key on this page. For Claude Desktop, also remove the CarouselBot extension (Settings → Extensions → CarouselBot → Uninstall). For Claude Code, run: claude mcp remove carouselbot

Something went wrong. What do I do?

This feature is experimental, so hiccups are expected. Try again — transient errors often resolve on retry. If the issue persists, open the link in CarouselBot directly to continue editing. You can also DM Karen on Substack for help.
